The oldest continuously-meeting Baptist congregation in Akron, Ohio

Nine people assembled in an Akron schoolhouse on April 18, 1834, to organize a Baptist church. They were assisted by a council from Baptist churches in Nelson, Wooster, Northfield, and Hiram.
Our Story
​Reverend Eber Crane was the first pastor, and the first church building was erected on Center Street n 1837. The congregation moved to a building on High Street in 1853, to the Broadway Street building in 1890, and finally to its present building in 1965.
